MobileMe Status update: It still sucks!

"A product they would be proud of by christmas" they said, well its that month of the year and yet the MobileMe web interface still sucks majorly. Browsing the inbox, reading a message, composing a message, changing settings, editing the address book or adding photos to a gallery is a scary job because at any point the browser will just refresh, taking you back to the main mail screen. Not saving your settings or even the message you were working on, its just gone for you to start all over agin. I paid money for this service from one of the most creditable companies in the world and yet they deliver a product that makes Hotmail or Live Mail look impressive. Apart from messages not showing up in sent items (or not being sent at all) I have not been able to add photos to my web galleries from iPhoto, forcing me to use the web interface.

I have the setup the Apple developers dream of, an high spec mac portable, latest OS and version of Safari. MobileMe should work like a dream, like every other product they have released to date. From day one this service has not got any better.

After MobileMe once again erased an email I was working on as it randomly refreshed, I Googled MobileMe sux and found your post. I couldn't agree more. Not only does the web interface stink, but I've never been able to get the cloud working between my G4 PowerBook (I know I need an upgrade), iPhone and web. I gave up months ago when I realized it was adding double entries to my contacts, replacing new information with old, and never syncing the calendar. I haven't had the patience to try the fifteen steps Apple recommends to fix the problem. At least .Mac didn't randomly erase info. You can't even call anyone to complain. That's understandable for a free service, but shockingly bad form for a paid service. I'm an Apple fan, but MobileMe has been inexcusable mess.

It's sad to say, but this is the most useful comment on Google search about the random refresh problem of MobileMe, because it at least makes me feel better that it is not me, but it is MobileMe, that's the problem. I'm giving up. MobileMe sucks, and I paid money for it.

Just wanted to chime in that MobileMe Mail is absolute rubbish. I can't believe Apple still hasn't gotten their act together yet has the indecency to charge for what is an obvious Alpha build of a service.

Oh does it suck. It gives you 20G disk space but I've been spending the last 3 days uploading 1/2G of pictures to the gallery. It constantly stops with the following error. There is nothing wrong with my Internet connection which leaves...

Apple needs to stick to devices and OS's and leave the services to someone else.

Unable to connect to MobileMe
We are unable to connect to MobileMe. This might be a problem with your internet connection or MobileMe's servers are temporarily unavailable.
If you have lost your network connection, you will not be able to connect to MobileMe. If you can still connect to the internet, check MobileMe's status to see if there are known service problems.

Ooooh yeah, MobileMe sucks so bad, words cannot even describe it's pure suckery. I've had nothing but trouble with Mail... nearly every single time I go to send an email, it has an error and tells me to 'cut and paste the text from my email and try again'... I mean, are we living in 1909 or 2009 here? Doing things like this manually is just rubbish. And I paid a sizeable chunk of money for the priviledge of using something I could have got for free.

Not happy Apple, not happy at all.

You know what really gets me? Almost a year after the first post here (December 16, 2008), MobileMe seems to still have the same issues. I mean, COME ON Apple, hurry the FUCK up!!! We've all be shelling out money for WHAT? The complaints have been pouring in for a year and you have done ZERO to fix Mail so that it doesn't keep fucking up. FUCK YOU! I HATE you FUCKERS now! I was a loyal Apple fanboy since 97, but I've had enough now. I'm OUT. You've fucked me over too many times. FUCK YOU!

Unbelievable, I have never seen a product so BAD for so LONG. Mobile Me does an adequate job syncing my Iphone and an instance of MS Outlook running in a VMWare Fusion virtual machine on my Macbook. I gave up on trying to get it to work on any of the Mac native products and I tried them all. Due to circumstances I need to use the web interface during the day but it has single handedly made me hate Apple. They need to hire a decent web developer to overhaul this piece of crap, it's embarrassing. Oh, and yes I run it on Safari although since it doesn't work anyway, not sure what difference it would make. Nice product Steve!
